Terms of Service
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are the rules for using coloradoveteranschamber.org, run by the Colorado Veterans Chamber of Commerce ("the Chamber," "we," "us"). By using the website or joining the Chamber, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
Who can use the website
You must be at least 18 years old to join, pay, or create a listing. If you sign up for a business, you are saying you have the right to act for that business.
If you create an account, keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.
Membership and dues
- Joining. Membership levels, prices, and benefits are listed on the Memberships page. We may approve or decline any application.
- Dues. Dues are due when you join and at each renewal. Prices may change, and we will give notice before a change affects you.
- Refunds. Dues are not refundable unless the law requires it or the board approves a refund in writing.
- Taxes. Dues paid to the Chamber are not charity donations for tax purposes. Ask your tax advisor if your dues count as a business expense.
- Truthful information. You agree that what you tell us is true, including any claim of veteran or military-connected status. We may ask for proof.
- Benefits can change. We may add, change, or end member benefits and programs.
Directory listings and what you post
You own what you post, such as your business description, logo, and photos. By posting it, you give the Chamber permission to show and share it on the website and in Chamber materials, such as newsletters and social media.
You promise that:
- Your listing is true and up to date
- You have the right to use every logo, photo, and word you post
- Your listing does not break any law or anyone else's rights
We may edit, hide, or remove any listing or post that breaks these terms.
Rules of conduct
When you use the website, you agree not to:
- Give false information or pretend to be someone else
- Falsely claim to be a veteran or a veteran-owned business
- Copy or collect directory information to send spam or sell lists
- Post anything hateful, threatening, harassing, or illegal
- Upload viruses or try to break into, overload, or damage the website
- Use the Chamber's name or logo in a way that suggests we back you, without our written permission
Our content
The Chamber owns the website's name, logo, design, and written content, or uses them with permission. You may view and share our pages for personal or member use. You may not copy, sell, or reuse our content or logo for other purposes without our written permission.
Member businesses and outside links
The directory and Resources page link to businesses and websites we do not run. A listing or link is not a promise or a recommendation from the Chamber.
We do not check or guarantee the work, products, licenses, or claims of any member or outside business. Any deal you make with a member or other business is between you and that business.
Not professional advice
The information on this website and at our events is for general learning only. It is not legal, tax, financial, or business advice. Talk with a qualified professional before you make important decisions.
Events
Some events have their own rules, fees, and refund terms, which will be shown when you sign up. We may take photos or video at events and use them in Chamber materials. Tell event staff if you do not want to be shown.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep the website correct and running, but we offer it "as is." We do not promise it will always be available, free of errors, or free of viruses. Joining the Chamber does not guarantee contracts, customers, funding, or business results.
Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, the Chamber and its board members, officers, volunteers, and staff are not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses from using the website or its directory. This includes lost profits or lost data.
If we are found responsible for anything, the most we will owe you is the amount of dues you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms or the law, and someone makes a claim against the Chamber because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including lawyer fees.
Ending access
You may stop using the website or cancel your membership at any time by emailing contact@coloradoveteranschamber.org. We may suspend or end your access or membership if you break these terms, do not pay dues, or harm the Chamber or its members.
Colorado law
Colorado law governs these terms. Any legal dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Colorado. Before going to court, both sides agree to try in good faith to work it out by talking first.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and change the effective date at the top. If you keep using the website after a change, you accept the new terms.
General
If a court finds one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and the Chamber about the website.
